Ned is the founder of Periscope Consulting and One Food Team and leads our Compliance/ Audit/ Food Defense practice and the Process Engineering practice. He is the preferred provider to the FDA and USDA Food Defense Oversight Teams in their international outreach and provides the benefit of that working knowledge with domestic producers. Ned also supports our Project Management and Startup practices.
Ned has over 26 years in food manufacturing operations, senior project management and compliance programs with firms including Coca-Cola, Ocean Spray, Nestle and Chiquita.
Paul leads our Project Management and Startup Management practices. Senior Project Managers (mostly PMPs) support major projects all over the U.S. Experienced Operations Managers support startups of major production lines and new products. Paul also supports our Food Defense practice.
Paul served aboard nuclear submarines before holding senior operations and project roles at Ocean Spray, Minute Maid, Welch’s and Chiquita.
Barbara heads our Corporate and Brand Strategy and Crisis & Reputation Management practice. She leads crisis planning, risk assessments and issue discovery efforts, installs and mentors rapid response teams, and spearheads strategic risk communications. She also provides custom media training, executive coaching and media management. From a corporate and brand perspective, Barbara develops strategies and plans designed to drive value in areas that most impact success. These include differentiation, positioning and leadership strategies, resonant targeted awareness, strategic alignment, stakeholder relationship management and influencer outreach.
Barbara is the recipient of numerous top-tier professional awards and was named a communications All-Star by the publication Reputation Management/Inside PR. During her 25 years in the food industry, Barbara has developed deep expertise and relationships that deliver high-impact measurable results.
Stuart leads our Project Management Office and EPMS/MS Project Server practice. An expert trainer and PMI Global Registered Education Provider, his coursework qualifies for PMI PDUs. He also provides PMO and Project Assessments, Turnarounds and Failed Project Forensics.
Stuart is an experienced PMO/project consultant for one of the world’s premier IT and business services firms. Over the past ten years, Stuart has pioneered the design, implementation and operations of the Project Management Office and Project Portfolio Management. Stuart is a preferred provider of Project Management training to the U.S. Army.
Niels leads our Strategic Procurement and Strategic MRO practice. He consolidates and leverages the MRO, Material Handling, Logistics and Facilities / Services spend and purchasing organizations across multiple operating companies.
Niels has extensive Procurement and Operations experience exceeding $500 million in annual spend. He has worked for or consulted with Nestle, Smithfield Foods, Texas Instruments, Raytheon and CPG industries as far afield as the Peoples Republic of Korea, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Tom leads our Packaging/Industrial Automation and Robotics/Custom Machinery practices. His projects integrate Multi Axis Servo and Drive Systems, HMI, MRP and ERP. They can include batch (S88), Process and Discrete Control, Auto ID (RFID/ Barcode) Material Handling and Sortation, with customized control systems solutions and customized machines.
Tom is active globally, developing and installing new systems, or trouble-shooting and updating existing ones for major multi-national producers. He provides superior engineering services for the manufacturing and process industries resulting in capacity increases and efficiency improvements.
Dan leads our Procurement Policy and Procedure Integration practice. He can conduct audits/reports to identify and benchmark performance and compliance for staff and suppliers.
Dan is a former Global Procurement Manager with extensive Procurement and Operations experience at the Corporate and Manufacturing levels of a major multi-national organization.
Scott leads our Operations Improvement practice. He manages TPM pillars, ISO processes, and kaizen/lean/six sigma activities. In addition to process improvement, he is a trained Industrial Engineer with experience in work measurement (time Studies, work sampling, detailed studies) and process mapping (line balancing, value stream analysis). Scott also supports our Project Management and Startup Management practice.
Scott has extensive experience in Textiles and Food Manufacturing with Milliken & Co. and Chiquita Brands. He has led plants to achieve the prestigious JIPM “TPM Award for Excellence. “
Mark leads our Human Resources practice. He provides recruiting of talented candidates with industry relevant experience as well as contracting and staffing solutions. He helps clients bolster their HR practices for EEO, Personnel Files, Leave of Absence/FMLA and other required functions.
Mark has worked for and with a number of leading agricultural and food manufacturing organizations including Fresh Express, FMC Agricultural Products, Capurro Farms, Bolthouse Farms and others.
Elizabeth leads our Food Safety, Allergen, SQF and HACCP practice. She works with organizations to train staff, set and measure food safety goals, document standard operating procedures, verify compliance to regulations, and determine root cause analysis. She is comfortable working within all levels of an organization.
Elizabeth has a unique combination of private and public sector professional experience which enables her to function with the efficiency of a private-sector manager while having the diplomacy and credibility of a seasoned government official.
Joe leads our Process Engineering, Aseptic and Water Management practice. He works with organizations to understand and install hot-fill PET, low acid, and aseptic filling capabilities. His experience extends to meat further processing, confections, baby food and many others. He has worked globally to include Vietnam, Thailand the Philippines.
Joe has worked for Ocean Spray Cranberries, M&M/Mars Master Foods Division and Stahlman Engineering. He has executed major projects for General Mills, Quaker Oats, Tropicana and PepsiCo. As a principal in ABACA Management, Joe bridges us to those additional resources as well.
Adrian leads our Social Media and Traditional Media practice. He extends our alliance to the EU, operating from Hampshire, UK. His work includes training videos, podcasts, and social media consults and analysis. The topics are as varies as scheduled maintenance, R&D, and pollution response.
Adrian offers practical experience and coaching
to deliver client results. His clients include Exxon Mobil, Walport (global shipping), AstraZeneca and the European Food Information Council (EUFIC). He is a research partner with www.FoodRisc.org, a pan-European organization where he provides social media tracking and analysis during food contamination and adulteration issues.
